Pondering Poetry Part 3

Watch the video to enjoy another installment of poetry to some of my father’s paintings.

There was a special event, of which I will write more about in a blog later next week, where I had the occasion to match some of my poetry to my father’s artwork. It was fun trying to match the spoken word to the mood of the painting. I wonder if you agree with my choices?

Dazzle’s Challenge:

  • On this note, I urge you to consider using art as inspiration for poems or visa versa. You may wish to use a piece from the masters, or what about writing a poem about your child’s art work and what poetic thoughts might inspire you. Or how about reversing the process draw a picture and ask your child to give you several words that come to mind (feelings, descriptions, movement, weather) when they look at the picture. You can surprise them with a poem or maybe try writing one with them.
