During the Covid Creative Renaissance Let’s Celebrate Our Courageous Pioneering Entrepreneurs!
When faced with such uncertainty and instability, it takes guts and optimism to see beyond the immediate chaos and independently pursue a goal that will demand taking risks and tenacity. Entrepreneurship pushes boundaries. It’s following a passion with integrity. It’s listening to the rumbles beneath the ground anticipating when a pivot is needed in adjusting the plan. It’s building relationships, because we all know although we can only control our own behaviour, working with others makes life so much easier, AND it is fun to share. It’s trusting execution while sustaining energy conservation. Entrepreneurship is what Buzz Lightyears said, “To infinity and beyond!”
Many of these traits are those that come naturally to young people. In my life, I’m inspired by the young the entrepreneurs in my life, Scott, my web designer, young Julian (8 years old), his bottle collecting and recycling business, my son Andrew who is doing his R&D in preparation for his entrepreneurial endeavors and my other son Matt, who is an intrapreneur. I am inspired by my cousin Robert Dittmer of d3sign, a proven entrepreneur, who has built an exceptional business in the highly competitive event planning and design business. These young men, (yes I’m including you Rob, you will always be 30 to me), personify resilience, courage and optimism.
This past week I received an email from a reader suggesting that I share this site https://www.finimpact.com/empower-and-support-young-entrepreneurs/. I had a look and WOW what a TREASURE of a site! It is richly filled with concise guidance for young AND older entrepreneurs.
In addition, it is a great resource for intrapreneurs. My son, Matthew, learned early from a wise mentor, that as an employee you have to take initiative and create your own development plan and take initiative to facilitate change and improvements. It’s being an entrepreneur at work.
Let us encourage and support those in our community who are trying to adjust, create and keep our economy going. If you know of a person who is pondering starting a new venture, direct them to the site above. Let’s support and fan the embers of entrepreneurship.
