Happy New School Year! Buckle up!
The learning adventure begins as millions of families make their way through the triumphs of acquiring new skills and knowledge while resiliently riding the sorrows of failure. The school year is like one massive bootcamp or as I like to compare it to CrossFit. Individual members of families, (children, moms, dads, grandmothers, grandfathers, and educational staff) are all engaging in their own goal setting for mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual self-improvement. At times, balance is lost. The family ship, the classroom, or relationships feel like they are taking a nosedive, and maybe they do, but nothing remains static and eventually, desire and love prevail as the family team pulls together and the will to fight for improvement prevails. I believe that even the challenges and failures are part of our strength training journey, ultimately bringing enlightenment. Remember, I’m an optimistic fairy with my bag of glamour!
This 2021-2022 school year will bring extra challenges as we all pivot through the CoVid waves. More than ever, we will need to support each other with encouragement, listening ears, supportive options, forgiveness, and compassion. We are all tired of the added restrictions and protocols. We are also grieving the loss of yesteryears. We are fearful of the unknown as the variants loom in the distance. Ultimately, we need to all maintain a growth mindset.
My goal is to blog for every school day of the 2021-2022 school year. I will be writing on topics that touch family members and educators. I’ll share ideas and insights based on my 26 years of teaching, research current available suggestions and ideas, chat with professionals who can provide further insights, entertain with my storytelling, and be the provocateur, all in hopes of being a cheerleader to all the children, moms, dads, grandmothers, grandfathers, and educational staff who are muscling through this new school year.
