Are Those Anxious Feelings Resurfacing?

We seem to be at a crossroads …Do we open up social interaction and the economy or do we hold the course? How do we cope with our conflicting feelings?

This week I noted through social media, the news and conversations with family and friends, a number of us digging deeper in wrestling with the reopening of our lifestyles while coping with our new realities. Today I went with a walk with our youngest son, “my little 6’7’’ goat” and our discussions revolved around the COVID, the economy, greed and the future, especially for young people. Where did our conversation end? Expectations and perceptions.

Mark and I read The Happiness Equation over our traveling in the past two years. This book deeply inspired both of us. Mo Gawdat”s equation is “…your happiness is equal to or greater than the difference between the events of your life and your expectations of how life should behave.”

I encourage you to listen to this podcast during our completion of week six of social isolation. It will ease the mind, spirit and body. Mo approaches this topic of COVID and happiness from a grounded and pragmatic foundation.    https://howtofail.podbean.com/e/how-to-fail-m-gawdat-c19/

I leave you with a poem I penned in 2011.
